Using only plastic, I wanted to explore the relationship between human and nature in this piece. The installation invites viewers to use light sources to interact with the piece by creating shadows of the flowers within the space. This transforms not only the flowers but also the space the installation stands in. It creates the effect of the flowers growing or shrinking which symbolizes human’s impact on nature and raises questions about the conflict between ephemerality and eternity as we realize the fragility of the flowers compared to the non-biodegradability of the plastic.
